A home for the things I think are worthy of sharing. Will largely be photography based.

Shoot for the jobs you want not the one’s you’re getting

Came across another fairly inspirational video – the post title is a line from it.

Take a look.

Like the fact he treated and shot school sports teams like full on pros!

Interesting tech, innovation, maker video

Less about photography and more about tech this one.

For last couple of years I’ve thought about playing around with ardunio tech, wanting to make something both technical and creative. In parallel I’ve also wondered about some day pushing something like this beyond the point of just messing around or doing for fun – i.e. launching into a wider audience by starting a company or similar.

Just come across this video which is really interesting on many of those aspects plus maker community, open source etc – and thought I’d share.

Never too late

Wow – been a while since I posted something to my blog – oops sorry. Been busy doing lots of gigs and such. Not really posted much on that here but does a few bits on my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dafowen/
I intend to start a 500px page too.

Anyway – back to the issue at hand – here’s another inspiration video for you. Shows it’s never too late to be / do whatever you want to do.

Another Inspiration video

I do like my inspirational videos and enjoy sharing them.Well here’s another.

I usually prefer videos which aren’t so targeted i.e. not about inspiration itself but about other people doing what they do, and doing it well sometimes in the face of adversity – but this is a direct one. However if you look at the creators other videos – you see there is a creative pattern there too.

Photo Inspiration : Ray Collins Seascapes

Ray Collins Seascapes

I’m loving my inspirational videos at the moment. I tend to be going for two kinds really – the “just go out there and do it” type of video and also those showing something so simple and basic yet done so well and beautifully – and this is the latter of those two.

Sure we’ve all seen lots of surfing photos and videos – but this is a video about Ray Collins primarily just photographing waves. Something so simple and basic in concept – yet done so well and beautifully. Suggests any of us could go do something similar with a topic that we usually just take for granted.

Many of his pictures remind me of solid lumps of glass or obsidian.

Inspiration: Honey shoot

Links to the honey shoot from Blake Little has been doing the rounds a fair bit on social media. He has a book of them : Preservation.

At the time it struck me as such a simple yet clever idea. Although there are of course logistics to consider like buying and controlling honey, different models etc – ultimately it’s simple and beautiful. The kind of thing where I think “Oh – wish I would have done that”.
I keep wanting to do more creative shoots but the impending organisation usually stops me or to be correct – I don’t event start. I just need to commit some time and just do it.

Recently came across a BTS video of the series and thought I’d blog it tagged as Inspiration.

Inspirational Video : Making time count

Came across this little video linked by a friend on Facebook.

I wholeheartedly agree with it – likely why I’m constantly so busy and always have stuff to do. I seem to fill my time up without trying.
